IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

With sadness and regret, we are announcing that we will be shutting down the DotNetPlayground service on August 1st, 2003.

The Future of DotNetPlayground?
Without making any guarantees, we do want to open the doors back up for free ASP.NET hosting in the future. With some planning and fundraising, we hope to be able to offer .NET hosting better than the first time.

It was fun while it lasted and we hope that many of you learned a lot about ASP.NET. We certainly did.

DotNetPlayground Members - Download All Your Files

Please take the time to download all your files off the web servers now. The entire server farm will be taken down on August 1, 2003 and completely wiped clean.

As with any playground, if you want to play, you have to follow the rules. Remember this is a FREE service. These rules are enforced to ensure that our servers will not be abused and that we can keep our doors open to fellow ASP.NET developers and, most importantly, keep it FREE.

By signing up for .net Playground Services, each member agrees to be bound by the Rules. Violations of any of the Rules will result in immediate termination of service without notice.

.net PLAYGROUND RULES

We reserve the right to cancel service for anyone at anytime for any reason.
We do not allow:
- adult content, the designation of which will be solely determined by .net Playground staff.
- violation of intellectual property rights, including storage/ dessimination of warez.
- spamming activities, including the development/ dessimination of tools used to spam.
- development, dessimination, or storing of viruses, trojan horses, worms...etc. or any code that can be used for destructive activities.
- any hacking or denial of service activities.
- violations of United States software export laws.
- any other illegal, abusive, obscene activities as determined solely by .net Playground staff.
.net Playground DOES NOT provide any uptime guarantee for our services.
This FREE hosting service is intended as a test and learning environment for expert and aspiring ASP.NET developers. Therefore, DO NOT host commercial sites, personal portals, file sharing/download sites, gaming sites, chat, and BBS sites on this platform. We ARE NOT responsible for any loss of revenue, data, reputation, content ...etc. when we cancel your site without notice.
We DO NOT provide technical support via email, phone, fax, or chat. Technical support is offered through the .NET FORUM. Any technical support inquiries received via phone, fax, email, or contact form will not receive a response.
We DO NOT keep backups of member sites. All members must keep their own backups outside of our servers. We ARE NOT responsible for any loss of data.
We reserve the right to cancel any member who is not using ASP.NET technology.
Member agrees to maintain current, complete, and accurate contact information.
Members understand and accept that we may install beta software on our systems.
We require all members to log into their control panel at least once a month to keep their account active.
We reserve the right to cancel accounts that we deem inactive.
We require all members to fill out monthly surveys to keep their account active.
Except for .mdb files, no files over 1 MB will be allowed on our servers. Please also see the FAQs for disallowed filetypes.
If a member's site exceeds the monthly bandwidth allotment, we will cancel the account without notice. It is the member's responsibility to keep bandwidth usage below the allowed limit.
We limit the number of simultaneous connections to all websites.
Members must follow standard ASP/ASPX programming etiquette. That is, no infinite loops, closing all db connections, clearing all objects ...etc.
Members will not be able to upload files, if the disk space allotment is exceeded.
Usernames will not be used for any misleading or misrepresenting purposes, such as impersonating another individual or entity.
Each member can only have one account.
This FREE web hosting service IS NOT for resale.
We reserve the right to modify these RULES at anytime for any reason without notice.
